On behalf of the project team and the international scientific committee, we invite health scientists, practitioners, researchers, managers and policymakers to attend the 1st international conference on workforce shortage in health care professions.  It will take place in Bern, Switzerland, on the 25th - 26th of October, 2018.

This conference is part of the national project, «Strategie gegen den Fachkräftemangel in den Gesundheitsberufen».

The project team, consisting of representatives from five Universities of Applied Sciences in Health in Switzerland, has co-organized this conference. The project team, together with the International Scientific Committee and the Support Group, also form the Competence Network Health Workforce (CNHW).

This first conference will focus on clinically relevant, practice-oriented, and interprofessional scientific knowledge, regarding measures aimed at reducing workforce shortage among health professions. The conference theme, «Countering Staff Shortage Among Health Professions – Together for a Healthy Health Care System», aims to encourage clinicians, educators, managers and researchers to participate. It also aims to offer a first comprehensive overview of the work completed to date within this topic.

As a Competence Network Health Workforce, it is in our interest to provide the opportunity to network and to establish contacts. The geographical diversity of presenters along with a diverse conference programme provides a framework offering multiple perspectives and opportunities.

We cordially welcome you to Bern, the capital of Switzerland, on the 25th to the 26th of October, 2018.
